The Client Service Representative (CSR) focuses on client service and communication.
He/She must have exceptional client service and communication skills, computer literacy, handle payment and financial issues, ability to multi-task, friendly attitude, and confidence to deal with stressful situations.
The CSR supports the veterinarians, technicians/assistants, and kennel staff in daily patient and client care.
They communicate with clients in person and by phone and e-mail.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Greet clients and pets by name
-Answer phone promptly and professionally using a multi-line phone system
-Provide phone shoppers with descriptions of services and pricing information
-Note in medical records the details discussed during client conversations
-Ensure the reception area and exam rooms have current reading materials and are clean and odor free
-Schedule appointments and surgeries according to hospital scheduling guidelines
-Sell retail items and pet food
-Advise clients on proper nutrition, preventatives, pain management, shampoos, dental products, etc.
-Explain invoices to show value for care provided, stating all services and products
-Balance cash drawer at end of day
-Clean up after pets' accidents in the reception area, exam rooms, and exterior sidewalks
-Foster collaborative relationships with other team members and departments
Educational requirements, Skills needed, and Physical obligations:
-High school diploma or equivalent
-Experience in customer service
-Computer literacy
-Able to lift patients or carry equipment up to 25lbs
-Endure sitting, standing, and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods
