Beebe School District Head Football Coach Senior High School Department: High School Job Status: Full Time FGSA Status: Exempt Reports to: Building Principal and Athletic Director Grade/Level: Certified POSITION SUMMARY The head coach shall coordinate the football program between the high school and the junior high school.
He/she shall be directly responsible to the athletic director in the performance of his/her athletic duties.
CONTRACT Twelve-month contract, 238 days SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as the varsity head coach.
Be responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of the assistant coaches.
Be responsible for the care of all athletic equipment by: Preparing and keeping current an inventory of all equipment, fixtures and properties of the athletic program Seeing that proper maintenance is conducted regularly on all equipment Assist the athletic director in developing a public relations program designed to keep patrons informed about the accomplishments of the athletic program They shall: Cooperate with the community and the press.
Plan consistent and continuous efforts to main good home-school relations.
Assume responsibility of the school's participation in all interscholastic conference activities in athletics by: Keeping abreast of all rules and regulations of the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) and the AAA Conference and ensure the school,in all matters, complies with the regulations.
Making all necessary reports to the conference in cooperation with the principal Attending all meetings necessary to properly implement conference rules and regulations.
Make the game schedule, secure game officials, meet visiting teams, supply visiting team needs, and take care of the requirements for orderly performance at all games.
Assume general responsibility of the general management (use, care and maintenance)of athletic fields, facilities, dressing rooms, etc.

Be responsible to the athletic director for eligibility of players at the beginning of the season.
Submit a list of names of players to be scheduled in athletic periods and be responsible for recommending the transfer of students of the athletic program.
Be directly responsible to the building principal and athletic director for athletes' behavior and the behavior of assistants while carrying out any of their duties.
Perform activities that support a team or a specific sport, such as participating in community outreach activities, meeting with media representatives, and appearing at fundraising events.
Make every effort to attend sport contests at the school and the junior high.
Encourage athletes to participate in other sports.
Be responsible for developing and administering policies on athletic awards Provide training direction, encouragement, motivation, and nutritional advice to prepare athletes for practices, games, and other competitive events.
Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions.
Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations.
Plan and direct physical conditioning programs that will enable athletes to achieve maximum performance.
Make efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of each athlete.
Evaluate athletes' skills and review performance records to determine their fitness and potential in a particular area of athletics.
Keep abreast of changing rules, techniques, technologies, and philosophies relevant to their sport.
Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of opposing teams to develop game strategies.
Coordinate travel arrangements and travel with team to away contests.
Arrange and conduct sports-related activities, such as training camps, skill-improvement courses, clinics, and pre-season try-outs.
Keep and review records of athletes, the team, and opposing team's performance Cooperate with the athletic director in the preparation and administration of an annual budget for athletics by: Counseling with the athletic director and recommending the purchase of all athletic equipment and supplies.
Compiling statements of needs, equipment, supplies, and maintenance fo the next school year.
Report to the proper authorities any cases of suspected child endangerment, neglect, or abuse.
Adhere to all policies of the District.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or Building Principal.
SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Academic area w/coaching endorsement or P.
E.
Experience: Prior head coaching experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Shall be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of proficiency with computers and programs associated with the position.
Certifications & Licenses: Current Arkansas teaching license with appropriate certification required.
Other Requirements: 1.
