Job Description: High School Science TeacherEngland Public Schools is actively seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated High School Science Teacher for the upcoming 2024-25 school year.
Qualifications of Employment: Bachelor's or master's degree in the subject area.
A teaching license or plan for obtaining one approved by the district.

Responsibilities: Currently holds or is able to secure an Arkansas teaching license within the range of 9-12 ScienceStrives to improve students academic performance and motivate students to learnStrive to implement, by instruction and action, the districts philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectivesAssists the school, i.

, administrators, teachers, students and support staff, to reach their academic and behavioral benchmarks and goalsEstablishes high expectations for students cognitive, affective and behavioral learning, growth and developmentContributes to the teaching and achievement of skills, performance standards and outcomesAssists students in making appropriate choices and in decision makingAssists in cultivating the development of students characterEngages in the development of well-rounded students: including physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally to promote good mental and social health in studentsCreates a classroom environment and lessons that are conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students (including differentiation and engagement)Teaches middle-level students: utilizing course guidelines that are aligned with Arkansas teaching/learning standards and other designated district curriculum expectationsAssists in the development of curriculum lesson plans that support the science core curriculum and integrates reading skill development in the science content areaUses technology to help students produce projects to demonstrate their understanding and skill attainment Has a passion for teaching in a student-centered classroomProvides opportunities, when needed, for individualized and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student; includes the capacity to recognize the need for interventionEstablishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive and engaging classroom environmentEvaluates each students progress in science and literacy skills to provide support as neededCreates engaging, active lesson plans to promote student mastery Communicates with parents and other personnel regarding student mastery and progressSupervises students in and out of classroom during the assigned workdayMaintains professional competence by participating in continuous professional growth, curriculum development opportunities, Professional Learning Communities, Response to Intervention teams, as well as other leadership collaborative teams Shares in the sponsorship of student activities such as content projects, promotional events, as well as faculty committees and projectsParticipates cooperatively with the appropriate administrator in their evaluation and professional growth planCommitted to multiple days of professional development in regards to curriculum specific to the grade level; often involves several weeks during the summer monthsMaintains accurate records of student progress/gradesPerforms other duties as assigned.
