Position Summary:
Coordinate and assist in the scheduling and completion of any Lot Acceptance Tests.
Collect, organize, and deliver data from tests to responsible persons.
Develop, maintain, and distribute electronic and hard-copied documents, departmental files, and resource materials necessary to define product configuration and control manufacturing processes that ensure conformance to customer requirements with assistance from subject matter experts.
Manage the area’s document control activities to ensure that all users have the latest revision of appropriate documentation in a timely manner.
Recognize quality problems, recommend solutions, and put solutions into action.
Become a subject matter expert in the use of companies existing document control systems, and recommend/drive improvements, including electronic documentation.
Assist the Quality Manager in problem-solving products and build issues utilizing knowledge gained from documentation or prior experience.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
*Coordinate Lot Acceptance Test scheduling and testing with other departments in the plant.
*Develop, collect, and maintain documented information of the latest revision levels necessary to control product realization processes for all testing done in the Ballistics Lab.
This includes assuring electronic distribution, access, and retrieval, assuring availability at the point of use, and assuring relevant personnel are notified.
*In collaboration with quality and manufacturing leads, assure timely distribution of the latest revision level documentation to all appropriate users, and assure that obsolete documentation is removed from work areas.
Collaborate closely with those assigned to document control duties in specific departments, as applicable.
*Perform administrative duties to generate documents as necessary, with inputs from subject matter experts.
*Lead control of documented information activities in accordance with ISO 9001 standards and participate in ISO 9001 internal audit team.
Train others on document control procedures.
*Assist in obtaining quotations, writing requisitions, and ordering office supplies as needed.
Secondary Responsibilities:
*Perform ammunition testing to ensure compliance with all Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturing Institute (SAAMI) standards for ammunition manufacturing following approved testing protocols for all key performance data including (but not limited to) – Pressure, Velocity, Accuracy, and Prime Sensitivity.
*Must be able to handle all types of commercial firearms and weapons effectively and safely.
*Be an active tester for Lot Acceptance Tests as needed.
*Other duties as required.
Education and/or Experience:
*3+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
*Proficient in using all equipment necessary for LATs.
*Proficient with using MS Word and Excel, as well as Sig-specific programs (e.
g.
, Oracle).
*Able to problem solve multiple issues at the same time.
*Highly motivated, with the ability to work independently, and with high attention to detail.
*Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
Working Conditions:
*Able to lift up to 25 pounds.
*Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
