Department: Bowen School of Law Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: The University of Arkansas at Little Rock, William H.
Bowen School of Law seeks applicants for a 9-month, full-time Assistant Professor position.
The subjects sought to be taught include but are not limited to Immigration, Real Property, and Secured Transactions Law.
Each successful applicant will teach at least one required or bar-tested course.
Bowen’s mission is guided by three core values – access to justice, public service, and professionalism.
The law school’s rigorous curriculum aims to balance theory, skill development, and experiential learning.
Students have numerous opportunities to assist faculty with academic research and public service, such as with the Veterans Legal Services Clinic and the new Bowen Center for Racial Justice and Criminal Justice Reform.
The position begins in August 2024.
This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications: Required Education and or Experience: J.
D.
from an accredited law school; Strong writing and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Education and or Experience: Outstanding academic credentials; Prior teaching experience, and/or law review or moot court service are preferred.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: Teach classes as assigned; Achieve teaching goals; Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrate ability to teach through electronic means of communication; Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in person, in writing, and in teaching; Demonstrated ability to analyze and utilize data in decision-making; Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of students; Demonstrated ability to advise students; Demonstrated ability to work as a team player and collaborate with colleagues.
