JOB DESCRIPTION ASSISTANT APARTMENT MANAGER **All applicants must have a smart phone or tablet with internet access and location capabilities.
** GENERAL STATEMENT: While this position specifies responsibilities, requirements and duties in certain areas, this person is an employee of Independent Living Services, Inc.
and will be expected to respond as such to requests not specifically contained herein.
This person must maintain the attitude that he/she works for the total organization, and as such, exhibit proper cooperation, enthusiasm and interest in all areas deemed necessary for the continuing success of the ILS programs.
JOB SUMMARY: The Apartment Manager works directly under the supervision of the Apartment Manager.
Regular contact with the supervisor is necessary.
This person will be part of a team effort including the individual being served, family, other personnel and/or service providers identified in the plan of care.
A positive relationship with the individuals and their families is vitally important.
It is the responsibility of this employee to be familiar with ILS Policies and Procedures and to work in such a way that supervision and services are provided in an effective manner consistent with policies, procedures of ILS and Federal and State laws/regulations.
It is also the responsibility of this person to be familiar with HUD rules and regulations.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: General duties and guiding principles: Focus first on the person being served, and understand that my role in direct supports will require flexibility, creativity, and commitment.
Know and respect the values of the people I support and facilitate their expression of choices related to those values.
Provide advocacy when the individual's preferences, needs, or talents are neglected or overlooked.
Encourage growth and recognize the autonomy of the individuals receiving services while also being attentive reducing their risk of harm.
Develop relationships with the individuals I support that are respectful, based on mutual trust, and that maintains professional boundaries.
Address challenging behaviors proactively and respectfully, using methods outlined in the ILS Employee Handbook, and follow any behavior management plans in effect for specific individuals.
Help individuals I support understand and express their rights and responsibilities.
Recognize that each individual I provide services to has potential for lifelong learning and growth.
Assist the individuals I support to understand their options and the possible consequences of their options as they relate to their physical and emotional health and well being.
Be conscious of my own values and how they influence my professional decisions.
Maintain competency in my profession through continued learning and attending and being an active participant in staff meetings and trainings.
Assume responsibility and accountability for my actions and decisions.
Recognize the importance of modeling valued behaviors to co-workers, individuals receiving services, and the community at large.
Practice responsible work habits.
Being on time for work Completing all necessary documentation to assure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
These may include, but are not limited to: daily data sheets and clinic notes, attendance logs, time records, incident reports, behavior reports, accident reports, seizure reports, etc.
Maintaining strict confidentiality for all consumer information, and facility operations Job Duties: Financial Management Keep fiscal data current for reporting service eligibility Assist with money management for people receiving services.
Assist with paying bills: writing checks, getting signatures, and filing receipts.
Maintain finiancial files.
Assist residents with budgets and money management.
Coordinates with Apartment Manager regarding spending money.
Ensures the apartment, grounds and vehicles are kept clean and in a good state of repair.
Document repairs in maintenance logs and notify maintenance personnel of any needed repairs.
Assist staff and residents in maintaining the office, community room and laundry areas.
JOB DESCRIPTION ASSISTANT APARTMENT MANAGER PAGE TWO (2) Administrative duties.
Assists with HUD forms pertaining to tenant move-in and move-out and turn in to ILS central office.
Assists with filing as needed.
Maintains and orders supplies as needed.
Assists with conducting and documenting emergency drills as required.
Participates in all staff meetings and staff trainings as required by Profiles and ILS.
Maintains confidentiality of all information received regarding ILS and the confidentiality shall be in compliance with ILS non-disclosure policy.
Appointments Assists with Medical and other appointments as per residents' needs and regulatory requirements.
Assists with ensuring pharmacies are up to date on all medical and insurance changes.
Work in conjunction with Apartment Manager and R.
N.
to make sure all medication sheets and medicine within the facility are current and accurate.
Resident Care and Programming.
Member of the Apartment team and is expected to work with the team in areas of programming.
Provides input into each resident's MAPS/Individual Service Plan i.
e.
, strengths, weaknesses and objectives.
Document progress on specific goals of residents in resident's file.
Guide residents in accomplishing MAPS/ISP objectives by demonstrating techniques and reinforcing good performance/discouraging inappropriate behavior.
Provides proper supervision over residents.
Assist other staff in meeting transportation needs of residents as necessary.
Supervising Apartment Employees Assists in interviewing and making recommendations for hiring.
Assigns Apartment employees daily activities as required.
Provides input into evaluation of job performance of Apartment employees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A minimum of high school diploma or GED.

Ability to write data and complete reports.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, and the general public.
Ability to observe and record programming and behavioral data.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, parentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
JOB DESCRIPTION ASSISTANT APARTMENT MANAGER PAGE THREE (3) REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
